Each week, QueerlyOut will be hosting a different charity or service provider in the club to raise awareness or campaign, provide service referrals or fundraise. Every week we will have a raffle in aid of the charity.
Founded in 1983, the Terrence Higgins Trust is the UK’s leading and largest HIV and sexual health charity. It provides a wide range of services including counselling, health advice, HIV testing and group support to over 50,000 people every year. THT also campaigns and lobbies for greater political and public understanding of the personal, social and medical impact of HIV and sexual ill health.
AKT was founded in 1990 to serve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual (LGBT) young people who are homeless, living in a hostile environment or in housing crisis. It’s mission is to ensure that all LGBT people are able to live in accepting, supportive and caring homes, by providing a range of services to meet the individual needs of those who would otherwise be homeless or living in a hostile environment.
London Friend is a charity that has been serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community since 1972. Offering counselling and support services which set out to explore issues of same-sex relationships, sexual identity and promote personal growth and self-confidence. They also provide social groups, and a safe space as an alternative place to meet and socialise.
